Via San Lorenzo 15/24 - 51017 PesciaA Pescia (Pistoia) in località S. LORENZO, alle pendici dello storico borgo, dedicato all'omonimo Patrono e nato intorno alla caratteristica chiesetta del 1500, conosciuta per la sorgente d'acqua, nascono nel 1700 le due importanti cartiere "San Lorenzo e Cerreto", famose per la produzione dapprima di carta pregiata a mano e, successivamente, bianca e grigia con asciugamano ad aria. I1 primo edificio è il Villaggio Albergo San Lorenzo e Santa Caterina composto da n. 6 appartamenti bilocali, n. 10 suites e n. 20 camere da letto. Arredi ed attrezzature sono stati scelti con lo scopo di offrire una calorosa e tradizionale atmosfera. Locali climatizzati.L'Enoteca e Ristoro dell'Antica cartiera, locale tipico che al suo interno conserva ancora gli storici macchinari e che è adibito alla degustazione dei prodotti enogastronomici della zone. La portineria, le sale soggiorno, lettura ed intrattenimento completano l'ospitalità di questo luogo ideale per soggiorni rilassanti. Pesca e trekking trovano quì il loro ambiente naturale.Questi storici opifici cessano la loro gloriosa produzione, la prima nel 1960, la seconda nel 1975. Da allora non vengono piu usati per la loro funzione originale, ma gli imponenti macchinari rimangono a testimonianza del passato. Oggi, finalmente, dopo un lungo e accurato lavoro di ristrutturazione, tutta l'area comprendente i due edifici risorge. Così questa zona immersa nel verde delle colline ed attraversata dal flume Pescia, che porta lo stesso nome del paese famoso per la floricultura, fa da cornice all'apertura di un importante complesso turistico residenziale. In Pescia at foot of the historical village San Lorenzo, dedicated to the Saint-Patron born next to the nearby small church of the 16th century, and near the well known water spring, two important paper mills called "San Lorenzo" and "Cerreto", were founded. They were widely known, in the beginning, for the production of high quality, hand made paper, later of white and grey, air-dried paper. The so called "Villaggio Albergo San Lorenzo e Santa Caterina", is made of 6 apartments with 2 rooms each, 10 suites and 20 bedrooms. All furniture and equipments were chosen with the aim of creating a warm and traditional atmosphere. All rooms are with heating and air conditioning.In the Enoteca and in the typical restaurant, where the old machineries are kept, people can taste local specialties. Reception and sitting-rooms for reading and entertaining, contribute to make this place ideal for guiet relaxing holidays. Fishing and trekking can be here easily practised.Both paper mills ceased their activity, respectively in 1960 and 1975. Since then,all machineries were kept ao witness of this past activity. Nowadays, after a long, accurate work of restructuring, all the area with the two historical buildings, has been brought to new life.
