Questo palazzo, costruito nella metà del 13° secolo, fu residenza della famiglia Gianfigliazzi fino alla fine del '700, e fu la sede del famoso Casino de' Nobili . Negli anni personaggi ed artisti famosi furono ospiti nella dimora di questa illustre famiglia, fra gli altri : Alessandro Manzoni ,Vittorio Alfieri ed il re Luigi Buonaparte . Dall'inizio del '900 fino alla fine della seconda Guerra Mondiale gli aristocratici letterati inglesi, affascinati da Firenze , elessero la pensione Piccioli di via Tornabuoni, che aveva sede nei medesimi locali, come loro residenza preferita. |

In via dei Tornabuoni at the top floor of the medieval tower overlooking Piazza Santa Trinita, a new hotel has been created; a period residence planned to welcome a few choice guests in a sophisticated and private atmosphere. This palace, built in the middle of the 13th century was the residence of the Gianfigliazzi family until the end of the 18th century, and was the seat of the celebrated "Casino de' Nobili" (club of the aristocracy). Through the years a number of famous personages and artists were guests in the dwelling palace of this illustrious family, among others: Alessandro Manzoni,Vittorio Alfieri and king Louis Buonaparte . From the beginning of the 20th century to the end of World War II English aristocrats and intellectuals, charmed by Florence, chose the Pensione Piccioli in via Tornabuoni, in this same building, as their favourite residence. |
