E' la più antica strada postale tracciata attraverso l'Appennino della Toscana ed è oggi un comodo accesso a Firenze dalle aree residenziali più accattivanti dei dintorni della città. Se da una parte conduce al centro, dall'altra questa strada, che si apre oltre l'antica porta S. Gallo al Ponte Rosso, sale il poggio del Pellegrino e prosegue per i colli della Pietra e della Lastra, di Trespiano e poi di Pratolino. Qui, superato il parco dell'omonima villa medicea, lascia definitivamente Firenze alle proprie spalle e per valli, gioghi e monti raggiunge la Futa alla volta di Bologna. I fratelli Fantoni hanno deciso di usare una parte di questa villa di famiglia, che risale alla fine del XIX secolo, per farne un Bed & Breakfast di qualità. Stanno offrendo attualmente un'ampia camera doppia, luminosa e silenziosa, arredata con mobili d'epoca dell'800, bagno privato e entrata indipendente. Altre quattro camere doppie, tutte con bagno privato, saranno disponibili da Agosto 2002. La colazione di tipo continentale viene servita nella spaziosa cucina nei mesi freddi, e in giardino, sotto un pergolato dedera, durante l'estate. A disposizione dell'ospite vi è anche una sala biliardo e una suggestiva mansarda panoramica a vetri per distendersi, leggere, giocare a carte, guardare la televisione o ascoltare la musica. Parcheggio privato interno. Villa La Sosta, che in passato era parte di più estese proprietà sul colle di Montughi, è contornata da un ampio giardino con cipressi e piante da frutto; l'edificio della casa è elegante e sobrio, arricchito da moduli architettonici che richiamano lo stile eclettico del primo 900, quali l'ingresso principale a bow-window e la torre - mansarda che apre il belvedere sul paesaggio collinare circostante.E' davvero il luogo ideale per visitare Firenze e dintorni, soggiornando in un'atmosfera di tranquillità e di armonia impagabili. Giusy e Antonio si prendono cura dell'ospite con calore e spontaneità, perché Villa La Sosta diventi per il viaggiatore la sua casa lontano da casa. The name of this elegant Florentine residence is linked to the road that the gardens look onto: Via Bolognese. It is the oldest postal road crossing the Tuscan Apennines and today gives convenient access to Florence from the most charming residential area around the city. In one direction it leads to the city centre but in the other this road, which starts from the ancient gate of S. Gallo at Ponte Rosso, leads up the Pellegrino hill and continues through the hills of Pietra and Lastra, Trespiano and Pratolino. Here, once past the park of the Medici villa of the same name, it leaves Florence behind it and continues upwards to Futa, in the direction of Bologna, through valleys, ridges and mountains. Fantoni brother and sister, have decided to use a part of this family villa, which dates back to the end of the nineteenth century, as a high class Bed and Breakfast. Now they are offering a double room, bright and quiet, furnished with period pieces from the 1800s, private bathroom and independent entrance. From August 2002 they will have available for their guests another four double rooms all with private bathroom. The continental breakfast is served in the spacious kitchen in colder months and in the garden, under an ivy pergola in the summer. There is also a billiard room and a suggestive and panoramic windowed attic where guests can relax, read, play cards, watch television or listen to music. Private car park inside the grounds. Villa La Sosta, which in the past was part of a more extensive property on the Montughi hill, is surrounded by large gardens with cypress and fruit trees; the building itself is elegant and sober, enriched by architectural elements recalling the eclectic style of the beginning of the 1900s, like the main bow-window entrance and the tower-mansard which gives a view of the surrounding hillside.Its certainly the ideal place for visiting Florence and its surroundings, enjoying an invaluable atmosphere of tranquillity and harmony.
